Improving life for individuals with Vitiligo

Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease that causes skin to lose color, resulting in irregular spots or patches. This loss of color is called depigmentation. It is not contagious or dangerous, but a person with vitiligo could have related physical health conditions and many individuals will experience mental health impacts. Vitiligo affects all skin tones, ethnicities, and genders, and impacts about 1% of the global population. There is not yet a cure for vitiligo, but there are several treatment options that can be explored with a dermatologist.
